Coach Woodson and the One Play team have provided far more than just lacrosse instruction. They’ve been true mentors—not only helping my son grow as a player, but also guiding him in how to manage academics and the demanding schedule that comes with being a serious high school athlete. What really makes One Play stand out is their emphasis on personal development just as much as athletic development. A lot of their work happens “between the ears. ” My son spends as much time talking through his goals in the classroom and life off the field as he does breaking down the X’s and O’s of lacrosse. That balance has been incredibly valuable… " PARENT " Our son started working with Trevor Tierney with One Play Development this fall. Trevor has been an extraordinary coach and leader in our son's development as a young adult as well as an athlete. Trevor's background in high level sports as well as psychology makes him uniquely qualified and skilled at working with young athletes to achieve their goals and excel at the next level. Our son has played multiple sports for several years, but working with Trevor has helped him grow emotionally and athletically. His relationship with Trevor has helped him become more thoughtful, intentional and disciplined in his pursuits as a student and athlete and is helping him understand more clearly what he needs to do to achieve his goals. Growing from a teen into a young man requires another level of reflection and dedication to your craft, especially as a student athlete, and Trevor has been instrumental in helping him understand this and put it into action. Kids at our son's age tend to get stuck in the routine of training, however, Trevor is teaching him how to challenge himself to be more mindful and disciplined about everything required to be a better version of himself, as an athlete, student and leader and how to take action toward those goals. He has really enjoyed working with Trevor and certainly wants to continue that relationship and continue to grow. It has been fun to watch him work harder and smarter and become more deliberate in achieving his goals. " PLAYER " As parents of two high school lacrosse players at very different stages and skill levels, Pat Tracy has been an invaluable resource for my wife and me. He works with our older son, Andrew, a high school junior who has committed to play Division I lacrosse as an attackman, and with our younger son, William, a freshman FOGO and midfielder. For Andrew, Pat was instrumental in helping us navigate the college recruiting process. He provided clarity, structure, and honest guidance on which universities Andrew should be communicating with and how to approach recruiting events and showcases. As parents, having Pat’s insight and experience gave us confidence and helped remove much of the uncertainty that comes with recruiting at the Division I level. With Will, Pat has been exceptional in developing both his mindset and skill set at an early stage. He challenges him to think the game the right way, build confidence, and continually improve as a player. In reality, Pat works on mindset with both boys, which has been just as valuable as the technical development. What truly sets Pat apart is his level of commitment and communication. He consistently checks in with our sons, runs individual and group workouts, and even sends simple texts to see how their week is going. He genuinely cares about the athlete beyond the field. For both the parent and the student-athlete, Pat has been extremely helpful in developing the mindset and skills needed to compete at a high level. We’re grateful to have him as part of our sons’ d evelopment and would highly recommend Pat Tracy and One Play Development." TESTIMONIALS PARENT " Coach Abby has had a truly transformative impact on our daughter, far beyond the lacrosse field. Under Abby's guidance, we've watched her grow in confidence, initiative, and drive. Abby doesn't just coach skills; she teaches mindset, teamwork, leadership, grit, and determination in a way that sticks. Our daughter is now better equipped to approach challenges - in sports, school, and life — with a level of resilience and self-belief that we credit directly to Coach Abby. After spending years in youth sports, my wife and I know how important it is to find a coach or trainer that you can truly trust with your child, especially given the amount of time they spend together. That trust is invaluable, and we have it completely with Coach Abby. We never question the environment she creates - one of high expectations, strong values, and genuine care for each player as a whole person. We are incredibly grateful for the way she invests in her players as students, athletes, and as young women. Above all this, Coach Abby serves as a role model in the truest sense - every day, every interaction, and no matter the circumstance. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! " PARENT " In a world where nothing is guaranteed-especially in the high-stakes game of college recruiting-One Play Development delivers the next best thing: The Best Possible Outcome! That's exactly what Kip Turner and his team have provided for my son, Harrison, turning potential into powerhouse performance. From the consistent weekday check-ins after class to personalized training sessions and those game-changing Sunday night mental performance Zoom calls, every step is designed to elevate young athletes. The results? Completely undersold and massively overdelivered-Harrison isn't just ready for college-level lacrosse; he's equipped to dominate life itself. Because let's face it: life is the ultimate game worth winning. " OUR WHY OUR MISSION & PURPOSE To develop and prepare youth athletes today for where they need to be tomorrow in sport and in life . Unlock your full potential one play at time. Our PURPOSE is to develop and prepare youth athletes today for where they need to be tomorrow in sport and in life. TESTIMONIALS Parent " The work that Trevor Tierney is doing to help goalies is truly transformative. My son has never had personalized goalie instruction and is thriving under his guidance. Trevor is humble, patient, and positive. He looks at each goalie, sees their potential and works to build them up so they see it as well. His two-step approach of working both on and off the field with his goalies is what sets his program apart. He cares just as much about the goalie off the field. In this age of crazy competitive sports, it is incredibly refreshing to work with Trevor and his unique approach to athletes. These kids are so much more than their sport and Trevor realizes that and sets these kids on a really great path toward accomplishing all of their goals. " Player " One play development is an outstanding option for athletes just like me who need help with their mental performance. One Play Development, particularly focuses on mental performance, can be a game-changer for athletes. It’s not just about physical skills, but about building that mental toughness, focus, and confidence to perform under pressure. Techniques like visualization, mindfulness, mental rehearsal, and self-talk are often used to help athletes sharpen their mindset, reduce anxiety, and boost overall performance. " Player " Working with Coach Pat Tracy has been a huge part of my growth as a lacrosse player. He takes the time to break down my game film with me, identify what I need to improve, and then designs specific drills to turn those weaknesses into strengths. Beyond the physical work, he's helped me understand the game at a higher level and stay confident and composed in high-pressure situations. Every session has a clear purpose, and I always leave feeling more prepared, more confident, and better equipped to compete at a high level. " Parent " Coach Casey O'Neill and One Play Development truly represent the gold standard in lacrosse training. Their commitment to each athlete goes far beyond basic instruction—they invest in developing the complete player, both on and off the field. With expert knowledge, unmatched energy, and genuine care for every student’s growth, they consistently push athletes to reach their highest potential. The individualized attention and relentless dedication set them apart from any program we’ve experienced. If you’re looking for the best of the best in lacrosse development, One Play Development is it. " Parent " One year ago, my left hand was very raw, I struggled to shoot on the run, and I wasn’t nearly as explosive as a player. Through one-on-one sessions and small-group trainings with Coach Stimmel, he pushed all of us to improve by competing against some of the best players in Western PA and helping me become a more complete player. I went from being a player who never focused on the mental side of the game—someone who would slam their stick, hang their head, and get frustrated over one play—to a player who can make a mistake and move on to the next play immediately. He’s helped me in so many ways, improving my game not just physically, but mentally as well. My left hand, which once felt uncomfortable, is now something I’m confident using on the run—sometimes even more than my right. Overall, he truly transformed me into the player I am today, and without his coaching, I wouldn’t be in the position I’m in now. " Parent My son is currently a sophomore in high school and has been working with One Play Development for about a year now. Coach Woodson and the One Play team have provided far more than just lacrosse instruction. They've been true mentors—not only helping my son grow as a player, but also guiding him in how to manage academics and the demanding schedule that comes with being a serious high school athlete. What really makes One Play stand out is their emphasis on personal development just as much as athletic development. A lot of their work happens "between the ears." My son spends as much time talking through his goals in the classroom and life off the field as he does breaking down the X's and O's of lacrosse. That balance has been incredibly valuable. The mentorship feels less like a traditional coach-player relationship and more like a trusted adult genuinely invested in his growth as a person. Another thing I've really appreciated is how collaborative the One Play coaches are. They work together as a team, sharing insight and perspective so the athlete benefits from multiple experienced voices rather than a single viewpoint. Every coach on staff is clearly well-established-having played and succeeded at the highest levels—and that experience shows in both how they teach the game and how they guide young athletes through the process. Over the last seven months, l've seen clear progress-not just in his play, but in his confidence, focus, and long-term mindset. One Play understands that success on the lacrosse field is driven as much by mental preparation and discipline as it is by athletic ability. As a parent who cares deeply about my son's development and future, I truly believe One Play knows how to help young athletes build the mindset needed to navigate the path to the next level, both in sports and in life. " Parent " My husband and I feel incredibly fortunate to have our teenage son train with one of the greatest lacrosse goalies of all time. While Coach Trevor Tierney has helped our son hone his lacrosse skills on the field, he has made an equally tremendous impact off the field. Coach Tierney has taught him the importance of setting meaningful goals and developing the discipline and work ethic needed to achieve them. Trevor challenges him physically in a positive, encouraging way, helping him become more fit while also building confidence and resilience. Coach Tierney has supported our son's growth as both an athlete and a young man, and we look forward to continuing to work with him in the future. " " The first conversation I ever had with Coach Andrew Stimmel centered on player development, misaligned goals, and the growing demands placed on young athletes. What initially felt like a refreshing perspective quickly became reality. After more than a year of working together, my son has grown into a more mature, confident, and well-rounded player—and, more importantly, a better young person who genuinely enjoys the process. As a parent, this experience has helped me recalibrate what truly matters in my son’s athletic journey. Success isn’t defined by playing in more tournaments or chasing constant external validation; it’s about continuous development while still enjoying the sports he loves. Today’s kids face relentless pressure—from parents, coaches, peers, and social media—to “be one of the best.” Coach Stimmel has helped reframe those expectations, placing a strong emphasis on aligning goals with what is most important for him as an individual. Beyond lacrosse, Coach Stimmel’s impact on how my son approaches adversity, manages emotions, and handles challenging situations—both on and off the field—will last far longer than any season or game. I’ve seen firsthand the power of mental performance training, not only in my son’s growth but in my own. Working with Coach Stimmel has helped me strengthen the skills I rely on daily in my professional career and in my role as a lacrosse coach. Coach Stimmel has injected something special into Western PA lacrosse! " " One Play Development Lacrosse continues to be an incredible experience for my son. The coaching is outstanding—highly knowledgeable, motivating, and truly dedicated to helping each player grow. What sets this program apart is the individualized attention. The coaches take the time to understand each athlete’s strengths and areas for improvement, and the progress shows. The summer session and fall session have been just what he needed to improve his shooting, dodging and footwork. The immediate feedback has been a game changer to help with both growth and to correct those bad habits! The coaches are extremely supportive and because of their encouragement, this is a practice that my son looks forward to going. He knows he is going to receive the help and support he needs to grow his game. The Sunday night meetings are something that sets One Play apart from other training programs. They help players sharpen their focus, build confidence, and strengthen the mental side of the game—something many programs overlook. My son looks forward to them every week. He has learned how to control the emotions of the game, through mindset, breathing techniques and learning about what he control in each situation. We couldn’t be happier with One Play Development and the leadership of Coach Mabry. If you’re looking for a program that develops both skill and mindset, then look no further. We highly recommend to anyone looking to grow in the sport of lacrosse. " Parent Parent " What we are investing in goes far beyond a single call between coach Alec and Finn. The skills learned in each meeting stay with Finn long after the call has ended and create the stepping stones for confidence and success for now and the future. The growth we have seen is immeasurable, it transcends every aspect of his life- school, sports, social and home. He is truly becoming the absolute best version of himself armed with the tools to conquer any and every task. " Contact Get in touch to learn more. GEORGETOWN PREP LACROSSE This past weekend, Coach Alec and Coach Casey led a high energy workshop focused on the most important part of an athlete's game: the mind. Throughout the 70 minute session, the energy was electric as they highlighted the agency and autonomy that each player has over his own responses. A major theme of the session was identifying the difference between a reaction and a response. While emotional reactions are a natural part of competition, there is a critical space between that reaction and the final response where a player makes a decision. That specific space is where the mental game shines. By recognizing this moment, players move from simply reacting to the play to actively commanding their own performance. To navigate that space with confidence, players need a plan. Having a mental blueprint to follow, such as an ICM (Internal Control Mechanism) or a Green Light mindset, gives decision making strong direction and stability. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the heat of the moment, the athletes learned how to use these tools to stay grounded and focused. The mental edge is what separates the good from the great. By mastering the "space," players claim their autonomy and step into their full potential. Would you like to bring one of our coaches to your team?
